Another exciting week goes in the books. We spent Sunday and Monday down at my parents' house in Springfield. While we were there, we went to the Baptist church, the folks from Mackville Methodist church came out to mom and dad's house for a cook-out and a hymm sing (my dad built a small church on his farm and restored an old organ and put it in). The pastor of the church also played the guitar and we all sang. We had a great time just showing all of our kids off to folks that we don't get to see very often. My sister and her family came down late on Sunday and our kids got to play with her kids, which they love. However, the highlight for our children was probably going out to Mr. Coyle's farm on Monday morning to ride the horse.
Riverman was a very willing participant. Coy didn't know what to make of that horse at first but after watching big brother and big sister take a ride, he was all for it. His death grip on the saddle lasted all of about 10 seconds as he proudly waved to the crowd after about 3 steps of the horse. After that, we went to my cousins to swim in their pool. Coy had a great time there too. He is not afraid of the water at all. By the end of the day, he was putting his face under. The only problem is that he was keeping his mouth open. He was trying to keep his mouth closed but he was having such fun that as soon as his head went under, his mouth would come back open. Between the horse riding and swimming, the boy was flat wore out.
In other news, Caleb lost his first tooth on Wednesday night. It had been loose for a long time. It was so loose that it had become discolored because it was just barely hanging on. He finally agreed to let Stacey tie some floss around it and it pretty much just fell out. Coy was already asleep when it happened so I don't think he even knew that anything went on but Katie was really excited for her brother. That is nice to see that she was happy for her brother. We talk about being happy for others when something good happens to them so it was good to see it in action. Of course, she thought Caleb was going to be rich.
One of our family traditions has been to go and pick strawberries in the spring and this year was no different. We were afraid because of the late freeze and the lack of rain that there might not be any strawberries but there were. We picked almost 7lbs of strawberries. They could have picked more but we won't eat them all. All of our children did well picking berries. Coy seemed to have a lot of fun, especially on the tractor ride out to the patch. He liked the wind blowing in his face.
Coy continues to do well. Stacey has really been working hard on the potty training this week and he is in underwear except for during the night. He has only had 2 accidents the entire week. There has been a change in his surgery date but we don't know to what date yet. The urologist is busy on July 23. We will keep everyone updated on when the anticipated surgery date will be.
We applied for Coy's passport today. We had to send off our original of the adoption decree. That is scary to trust such an important document to the State Department. We are supposed to get it back and we will need it back to get his SS#. It takes 3 months to get a passport. I am glad that we aren't in any hurry.
Stacey and I continue to be blown away with how generous God has been to us. He has really blessed our family with Coy (with Katie and Caleb too). I still don't know how to put all of my thoughts about it down yet. I am working on it and maybe someday, I can try to explain the overwhelming sense of gratitude that I feel for all that I have been given because I certainly don't deserve it.

How awesome is the potty training! Yay, Coy! And congrats to Caleb on losing the tooth. I'm glad it went well. Now Katie won't be afraid when it is her turn, hopefully! How is the "no thumb sucking going?" Praise be to God for ALL of your blessings. Love and prayers, Shelley
